This camp offers a two week coaching programme under the guidance of the official coaches from The Tottenham Football Academy. It is open to boys and girls aged between 8 and 17 years of all abilities. The participants train on the artificial turf football pitches of the Royal Holloway, University of London.
The players learn about the technique and playing style of Tottenham Hotspur. They receive 14 hours of football coaching each week. They will also attend two football seminars, lasting two and a half hours each.
Participants are organised by age and level into groups of between 8 and 16 students. Coaching and seminars always take place in English.
As well as working on their technique and match strategy, participants learn how to play in the style of this great club, it is a unique opportunity to get advice about their football from highly qualified and experienced coaches.
One of the aims of this camp is that the participants improve their knowledge of English. Therefore, the camp delivers, through a prestigious language school, a course of 35 hours of English lessons during the two weeks of the programme (17.5 hours a week).
Teachers are native English speakers and the lessons are developed around football-related themes in order to engage the interest and motivation of the students. This also helps the young people to familiarise themselves with the language used in football coaching so they can better understand their trainers’ instructions.
Language classes at Football camp
Participants are grouped by age and level, the maximum number of students per class is 16. At the end of the course students receive a diploma of participation.
This camp is an ideal option for those young people who want to improve their level of English as they are totally immersed in the language during their two week stay, not just from language study but also because they’re using English to speak to camp staff and their campmates.
