Students will study in a public secondary school in the centre of Seville and stay in a university residence or with a Spanish host family who will help them throughout their stay, and contribute to their language learning through total immersion.
Participants can enrol in this academy for a full academic year (from September to May) or choose a shorter period of three or six months.
The methodology of our annual football academy in Seville is based on the Spanish model, which utilises high intensity exercises with the ball in real match situations in order to develop the technique, tactics and physical potential of each student.
The training is carried out at first class facilities in Seville under the guidance of UEFA-accredited coaches from the Spanish first division. In addition, the academy employs a group of physical education instructors and teachers, all of whom are experienced in working with promising young people in a range of Spanish club academies.
During the annual camp, the young players will train at a local club where the quality of football is high thanks to the inexhaustible supply of youth talent.
The boys and girls will be trained by club professionals in accordance with existing coaching methods that set the benchmark for Spanish football worldwide.
During term time, the students will be able to take part in games and tournaments with other footballers of a similar age and level. The students will have the chance to represent a federated club providing their level is similar to that of the other players on the team.
The football coaching is complemented by a personal training program that carried out at the excellent facilities of O2 Wellness centre, one of the best gyms in Seville. Students will take part in a total of three individual sessions per week which are dedicated to specific physical or technical training.
Each youngster at the annual soccer camp participates in a program based on their age. All of the training is split into two main categories:
- For male and female players aged between 15 and 19 years
- Training with a semi-professional team
- For males and female players above the age of 18 who are already plating for a local team
- Program of coaching and competition in a semi-professional or amateur federated club
Beyond the sporting arena, the academy also offers a comprehensive educational program for participants who want to continue studying while they perfect their football skills.
Language classes at Football camp
Students who attend the annual academy can continue their educational studies at a public center in Seville. The academy will ask the Ministry of Education to allocate a place at the closest available center. The education program is held entirely in Spanish so, if the participant has problems with the language, they can be assigned an academy guardian or support tutor, in agreement with the school, to assist in their adaptation process during the first weeks of their stay in Seville.
Public schools close their registration deadlines in January so the youngsters who want to pursue their studies in a public school must reach the academy before that date or, failing that, enroll in one of the private schools that are also offered.
The academy collaborates with two bilingual private schools in the center of Seville. These centers are: The European College of Seville and College of St. George. Students who wish to enroll in one of these private schools must assume the additional cost of approximately 400 € per month as it is not included in the standard price of the program.
To enroll in one of the schools listed above, students must obtain a certified certificate of their academic record and a certified photocopy of their passport.
Students also have the option of attending 1.5 hours of Spanish classes each day from Monday to Friday. Under the guidance of a native teacher, the youngsters will acquire the basic skills necessary to function in real-life situations. After completing the course, all students receive a certificate verifying their efforts in learning the language.
Applicants over 16 who need a visa to enter the academy but do not want to continue pursuing academic studies, can still choose to enroll in Spanish courses.
Programme and Activities
Between Monday and Friday, the young guests are busy attending classes and soccer coaching sessions. However, at the weekends they get the chance to participate in a range of cultural activities and excursions that will help them get to know the city of Seville, and have fun with their fellow classmates.
What’s more, they will also get the opportunity to participate in organised football tournaments where they can put into practice what they have learned in the training sessions, and hone their physical condition to the maximum level.
The annual sporting and academic program in Seville concludes with a tour of the stadium and a visit to a training session of either Seville FC or Real Betis Balompié. In addition, the youngsters will also attend an official league match of one of the clubs. During their stay, they may also get to fulfil their dream of attending at a match featuring Real Madrid or Barcelona.
In terms of cultural highlights, the students will take part in a guided bicycle tour of Seville, during which they will visit some popular tourist sites including well-known monuments and museums.
Other excursions in the program include a day at the beach in Huelva or Cádiz and a trip to the cities of Córdoba or Granada.
