Have you ever heard of a “golf baptism”? To many, it might sound like a celebration or a religious ceremony, but it’s nothing of the sort. A “golf baptism” is all about introducing the sport to people who have never played it before, in a simple and dynamic way.
This way, people who are unfamiliar with (or have only had very sporadic contact with) the sport of golf have the opportunity to visit a course for a day to receive a free introductory lesson that allows them to experience firsthand the great appeal of this sport.
During the golf initiation, new players receive guidance from specialized professionals who teach them the basic swing movements, as well as other common shots on a golf course (putt, approach, etc.).
In addition, the club hosting the golf initiation provides all the necessary equipment (clubs, balls, tees, etc.) free of charge for the first lesson. All you need to bring is comfortable clothing, athletic shoes, and a strong desire to have fun and enjoy yourself.
A few years ago, the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, in collaboration with regional federations and clubs, launched a promotional and marketing campaign for this project with the goal of bringing golf to the streets and introducing it to as many people as possible.
The golf initiation session is open to people of all ages, offers the chance to participate with family or friends, and can be booked at many golf courses with a simple phone call in advance.
