PSG Academy Pro in Virginia: a week inside the academy
PSG Academy Pro opens its Virginia campus, at Oak Hill Academy, to a very limited number of players during the school year. These are individual weeks, from Monday to Saturday, in which the player joins the academy’s daily routine and trains alongside the full-year resident players, with coaches certified by the club and trained at Paris Saint-Germain’s headquarters in Paris.
The group is small, the academy is in the middle of its competitive season and the player sees from the inside how a professional environment works: individual assessment and performance report, video analysis and recorded matches. For anyone considering the full-year programme, this is the way to get to know the academy from the inside and to show their level in mid-season: the coaching staff assesses participants for the full-year Pro Residency Academy and for the Top 44 Elite Experience at the PSG campus in France.
The best experience starts with good guidance.

Training
Skill level: Intermediate, advanced, or elite
Additional Football Education: Seminars, competitions, recovery sessions, and injury prevention practices
Students per training group: 15 max
Coaching Language: English, Spanish and French
Intensity Level: 4/5
The programme takes place on the academy campus during the competitive season, with the Paris Saint-Germain methodology and coaches certified by the club.
Training is technical, tactical, physical and mental. On the pitch, players work on the specific demands of their position and compete in small-sided games and internal friendlies; off the pitch, there is the campus gym, recovery treatments and a daily one-hour classroom workshop. Twice a week there are matches that are filmed with VEO technology and shared with the family.
The player joins the groups of the full-year resident players, so training follows the rhythm of an academy in mid-season, with a low player-to-coach ratio.
On the football side, the programme includes:
- Technical, physical, tactical and goalkeeper-specific training
- Individual assessment and player performance report
- Video-recorded game and analysis
- Daily 1-hour classroom workshop (mental development, nutrition, PSG methodology)
- PSG Academy USA Pro certificate
- Assessment for the full-year programme
The PSG Academy Pro coaching staff also selects the best players from its programmes for the Top 44 Elite Experience at the PSG Academy Pro campus in France.
Training Facilities
Players train at the sports facilities of Oak Hill Academy, in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, United States.
The academy covers 240 acres of woodland with a private lake, gardens, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and an equestrian centre. Training takes place on natural grass pitches, and the campus has its own fully equipped gym, recovery treatments and a video analysis room.
The grounds are closed to the public: residence, pitches and gym are all on the same campus, so the player does not need to travel to train.
Training surface: Natural grass
Additional training facilities: Gym, video-analysis room, and conference room
Quality: 4/5
Coaches
Licenses: UEFA A, UEFA B y UEFA Pro
Language: English, Spanish, and French
The coaches are certified by Paris Saint-Germain and trained at the club’s headquarters in Paris, and they apply the same methodology the academy uses throughout the year.
The coaching staff holds UEFA licences and works with a low player-to-coach ratio. The team also includes physiotherapists and strength and conditioning coaches who oversee strength, conditioning and recovery work.
Goalkeepers have their own programme, led by the PSG Academy head goalkeeper coach, with specific sessions during the week.
Language Lessons
Native teachers: Yes
Hours per week: 10 hours per week
Quality of the classes: 3.5/5
International players can add an English course to the programme for an extra fee.
It is 10 hours of class a week taught by native teachers, focused mainly on conversation, and available at beginner, intermediate or advanced level.

Accommodation
Accommodation Facilities: OAK HILL Academy
Distance from Training Facilities: Residence and sports facilities on the same campus.
Room Type: Double rooms
Bathroom Type: Shared bathrooms
Quality: 3/5
Players stay in the Oak Hill Academy residence, on the same grounds as the pitches and the gym. Life on campus is like that of a small university campus, with traditional-style dormitories and twenty-four-hour supervision.
Rooms are double and air-conditioned, with a shared bathroom, and the stay includes bed linen and a laundry service. Board is four meals a day — breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner — balanced and with water at will.
The academy provides the kit: two Nike PSG Academy uniforms, a PSG Academy T-shirt and a water bottle, with daily cleaning of training gear.
Outside training, the campus runs activities built into the weekly schedule: horse riding, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing, basketball and pickleball. Players staying two weeks also have weekend activities.
Safety
Safety is our top priority. The campus is closed to the public, with traditional-style dormitories and supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and specialised staff who look after participants throughout the stay.
The academy sits in a quiet setting in the Blue Ridge mountains, in south-western Virginia. The nearest airport is Charlotte (CLT), about two hours away by road, and the academy offers a transfer service to the campus.
As these weeks fall during term time, the academy issues an invitation letter for the visa or to justify the absence from school.
