Achieving the techniques of the most brilliant golf stars like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and the late Seve Ballesteros is not a question of luck but perseverance, dedication and hours of training. With this in mind, during the two weeks of this mixed camp, the girls and boys will receive classes over 9 and 18 holes at the West Hove Golf Club. They will be accommodated and study English at Lancing College, one of the leading schools in the UK, located 15 minutes from Brighton and 10 minutes from the golf course.
The camps take place from July to August and participants attend for two consecutive weeks during this period. The latest day when it is possible to make a booking is 1 June although we recommend making a reservation as soon as possible as places are limited.
This camp is not recommended for beginners. Ideally participants will already have an official handicap or have already taken a course on an 18 hole course.
Coaching - Golf + Languages - Brighton 2019
Participants will receive a total of 24 hours of coaching of the highest quality. The training is delivered by the professional coaches from the academy team led by Ryan Fenwick, winner of the PGA EuroPro Tour and the Sunshine Golf Tour in South Arica. Training takes place at West Hove Golf Club, situated 10 minutes from Lancing College. Daily transport is included in the price of the camp. The girls and boys will be supervised at all times by camp staff.
One of the unique selling points of this camp is the small training groups, there being a maximum of six players, which means there is personalised teaching and continual evaluation of each student, as well as a development plan adapted individually to each student.
The basic aim of the training is to challenge the players from a technical, tactical and physical perspective. The hours of coaching are used to best advantage to work on all aspects of the young people’s game, using demonstration, practice and continual feedback.
The players will be able to evaluate their technical skills in detail, as well as improve their strategic play. In order to measure their progress and put into practice all they have learned during the 24 hours of training, at the end of the camp participants will take part in a tournament with British players from the junior leagues. The training programme includes up to five rounds of golf over 9 or 18 holes, as well as the final tournament.

What better way for a young person to improve their English than by using it while playing a sport they love. Motivation is a fundamental tool in improving language skills and this is why the golf camp in Brighton has designed a study plan focused on the world of golf and based on the CLIL methodology, used at the best schools throughout the world. The CLIL system integrates the contents of a specific theme with language learning. Students live a completely immersive experience in the English language while playing their favourite sport.

As well as the class teaching, there are complementary and interactive activities and it is important to emphasise that English is the language used in all the coaching, workshops and excursions, meaning participants experience a total immersion in English.
