Program available

The winter camp program is available for 1, 2 or 4 weeks and includes football training, accommodation plus optional language classes in English, Spanish or Catalan.

Our winter camp in Barcelona is attracts young football players of many abilities from all over the world. However, the camp is mainly geared towards players who have reached intermediate or advanced level.

The camp is held during the last two weeks of January and the first two weeks of February with course available from one to four weeks in length.

The camp’s sporting programme allows the participants to play with some of the best teams in Catalonia, who are also partners in our innovative project. Coaching sessions take place from Monday to Friday across two sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

As well as high quality soccer coaching, campus participants also have the opportunity to enrol in a language course where they can study English, Spanish or Catalan.

Accommodation options include the excellent residential facilities or as an alternative, students can choose to stay with a host family in an area close to the sporting facilities.


The Barcelona winter camp has partnered with a number of Catalan teams such as UE Cornellà to offer a top class training program for young people.

UE Cornellà currently playing in the Spanish Second Division B and has approximately 50 federated teams with more than 1000 football players from all categories and ages. Many professional football players have spent time in the ranks of UE Cornellà including Barcelona’s Jordi Alba.

Camp participants get to train at the club’s modern facilities for 15 hours each week between Monday and Friday split into two daily sessions. During the weekends, friendly matches are organised so that participants can consolidate what they have been workin on during the week.

The Barcelona winter training program aims to improve all aspects of football technique and tactics. The training covers many areas including:

  • Passing
  • Possession
  • Control
  • In-game vision
  • Handling
  • Tackling
  • Shooting 

All the sessions give particular importance to decision-making and the pace of play, concepts which are very important in the modern game.
The training sessions are adapted for all levels, although this camp is more appropriate for players with an intermediate or advanced level of ability.
To complement their sports training, the students will also receive advice about nutrition and maintaining a healthy diet.
All of the coaches, monitors and technical personnel in the camp speak both Spanish and English in their communication with the participants.

Goalkeeper training

Within the extensive facilities of UE Cornellà there is an area dedicated to the development of goalkeepers. Here the best professionals in the game work on specific exercises, emphasising footwork drills and other indispensable characteristics required for top-level goalkeeping.

Language Classes

Our Barcelona winter camp offers more than just sport. In addition to first class soccer coaching, young people who attend the camp can also choose to take courses in Spanish, English or Catalan. The language classes take place from Monday to Friday, either at the residence or at a location very close by.

All the language courses at the Barcelona winter camp are approved by the Common European Framework for Languages, the international standard which measures the level of oral and written comprehension in a language.

After completing the course, all participants will receive a globally-accredited certificate recognising their linguistic competence.

Programme and Activities

Between Monday and Friday, the students combine their soccer training with languages classes (optional) and a range of leisure activities. The training sessions are conducted in the morning and afternoon.

The training may vary from day to day with technical training, matches and gym exercises all included in the schedule. In addition, the students will also have free time to enjoy the pool, take refreshments and regain their strength before returning to training.

To make sure that every young person gets the best out of their stay at the Barcelona Winter Camp, there is a range of leisure and entertainment activities scheduled during the week and at the weekends.
Typical excursions include:

  • Museum visits
  • A tour of FC Barcelona’s stadium and shop
  • Trips to theme parks such as Port Aventura, Tibidabo and the aquatic park at La Isla Fantasia
  • Educational visits to Barcelona Aquarium and Zoo


Training sessions take place at the excellent facilities of UE Cornellà football club near Barcelona. This sports complex has several football pitches constructed with the latest generation artificial turf approved by UEFA including 11-a-side, 7-a-side football and 3-a-side facilities. In addition, there is a specialised area for goalkeeper training, video room, gym, bar, changing rooms and a physiotherapy suite.


Students at the Barcelona Winter Camp are accommodated at the excellent residential facilities of the International Tennis Center - a sports ground located in the South East of Cornellá de Llobregat. The centre has 80 rooms available, 60 for males and 20 for females, and is located just 15 minutes from Barcelona Airport.

Each room is shared between 2-4 people with each person having their own wardrobe, bed, desk, chair and shelving. Other features include a shared refrigerator, a daily cleaning service, a thrice-weekly laundry service a safety deposit box service.

Bathrooms are shared and there is a common room with television and games console.

The residence also has 20 tennis courts, a spa, a swimming pool with a retractable roof, and a classroom where students study language classes from Monday to Friday.

Full Board

Students who stay at the residence also have full board catering included in the price. The menus are adapted to match the training workload, and are prepared with healthy produce with a balanced diet in mind.


A health centre called the Policlinica Cornellà is located Next to the residential facilities. The clinic is equipped with all the necessary amenities to treat any sports injuries and deal with any accidents that may occur.
