Young football players from all over the world dream of one day pulling on the famous white shirt of Real Madrid. Now that dream can become a reality thanks to the fantastic summer camp organized by the Real Madrid Foundation in the UK.
For a few weeks in the summer, budding young players can learn to improve their footballing skills at the hands of the Foundation’s expert trainers. But that’s not all! The students will also learn to speak better English by taking part in the camp’s intensive language program.
The Real Madrid UK camp is available for youngsters of between 9 and 17 years of age and takes place at the prestigious University of Chichester. There, the youngsters can enjoy the fantastic facilities, as they spend a few unforgettable weeks sharing experiences with other boys and girls from all over the world.

Real Madrid Training
During their two or three week stay at the Real Madrid summer camp in the UK, the students will carry out 20 hours of soccer training per week under the guidance of coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation.
The training sessions will help them to develop and in improve is many areas of the game including basic ball skills, shooting, retaining possession, dribbling, marking and playing as a team.
In addition, the participants will also play in tournaments to enable them to put into practice what they have learnt. This may include internal tournaments with their campmates, as well as external tournaments against local teams.
The main objective of the training sessions is to boost the youngsters' passion for football and to ensure that they have fun whilst learning.
There are training programs to suit all levels of ability.
Initially, the children are split into groups of 15 to 20 according to age. But later, once they have been assessed, they groups may be rearranged further according to ability. There is one Real Madrid Foundation coach in charge of each group.
The trainers at the summer camp are all highly-experienced professionals from the Real Madrid Foundation. They travel from Spain each summer to teach the same tactics and techniques that are applied in the training sessions of the Real Madrid youth teams.
Real Madrid English Lessons
As well as learning to become better footballers during their stay at the camp, the youngsters will also attend two English language classes each day between Monday and Friday. Each class lasts 90 minutes with one in the morning and another in the afternoon. This equates to a total of 15 hours of English lessons per week.
The English language course that is provided by the camp is fully accredited by the British Council.

The main objective of the English language classes is to improve the children's conversational skills but without forgoing grammar and phonetics.
On the first day of camp, the children will take a language test to assess their current level. After which, they will be assigned to groups of similar ability with no more than 15 pupils per group.
In addition to the daily lessons, the children will be in constant contact with the language as all football training sessions are also held in English.
All the teachers are native English speakers with extensive experience in tutoring groups of young people from various cultural backgrounds and of all ages.
The teachers are motivated and highly qualified with all the certification required by the British Council to teach English to foreign students.
Real Madrid Agenda
The agenda at the Real Madrid UK camp is not just limited to daily football training sessions and English classes. In the evening and at the weekends, the camp staff members arrange many other activities to keep the children entertained during their stay.
Typical activities may include movie nights (in English), karaoke sessions and interactive sports discussions. Whatever schedule is planned, the supervisors make every effort to ensure the children have a great time and have an experience that they will never forget.
As mentioned, students at the Real Madrid UK summer camp enjoy a wide variety of activities in the afternoons after their training sessions. As well as keeping them amused, these recreational events also allow the children to put into practice the skills that they have learned during their English lessons. In particular, activities such as karaoke and theatrical productions are especially beneficial in helping them to improve their pronunciation.
The participants will also be able to apply their English skills during debates, sports discussions, movie nights and the camp talent show, in which each student is invited to demonstrate their skills to their fellow campmates. In fact, the whole agenda is designed to promote interaction between the group members.
At the weekend, the fun does not stop. The Real Madrid UK camp also includes half-day and full-day excursions to a places of interest such as London, Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton or Bath. During these excursions, the children will get to see historical monuments, experience British traditions and enjoy themselves exploring the well-known shopping centres.
Real Madrid Accommodation
Students taking part in the Real Madrid UK camp will stay in the residential halls of the University of Chichester, located in the County of West Sussex. The city of Chichester is located near the South Coast of England, just over an away from central London.
Given that all the relevant facilities are situated on site, the children will not be required to leave the campus to attend their English classes or football training sessions.

Distance between facilities
The children attending the Real Madrid UK camp will stay in single or double rooms which are fully equipped with all modern conveniences. The rooms are located in the recently-constructed residence halls of Chichester University.
The facilities also include common rooms, where the children can relax and chat; as well as vending machines, where they can grab a snack outside of the scheduled mealtimes. The children will also have access to telephones to make local and international calls.
The residence is equipped with its own laundry room where the children can use the coin-operated machines do their own laundry.
All meals are served in the camp cafeteria, except on excursion days, when the children are provided with packed lunches to take with them.
For both lunch and dinner, there are a choices of meals on the menu including at least one vegetarian option.
The University of Chichester campus is located is a fully enclosed and secure area which is protected by 24/7 surveillance. In addition, the students are supervised at all times by both English and Spanish speaking monitors. A program manager is also on hand to deal with any issues that the students may have during their time at the camp.
During their English lessons, the children are under the supervision of the qualified teaching staff members. Likewise, during the football training sessions, the team of coaches and assistants from the Real Madrid Foundation are responsible for monitoring the participants. As a rule, there will be one supervisor in charge of each group of 15-20 pupils.
