Each year, Ertheo Sports and Education Agency offers two scholarships of 1000$ each to promising athletes (soccer, tennis, or golf) currently competing and studying at a Division I university in the United States.
Ertheo is an international agency that offers prestigious long-term and short-term sports and education programs to young athletes from 6 to 21 years old. For more information about our programs, click here.
We strongly believe in the importance of academic achievement for all athletes, even the most talented athletes who are pursuing a career in professional sports. As part of our mission to promote academic achievement, we offer two annual scholarships to American student-athletes (one boy and one girl).
About the scholarship
There are two scholarships, each of 1000$, to be awarded to one female student-athlete and one male student-athlete annually.
To qualify, student-athletes must compete in soccer, tennis, or golf for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in a Division I school and, at the same time, demonstrate excellent academic standing.
How to apply
Applicants must send a short summary of their sports and academic history to [email protected] as well as an essay explaining why they are the right person for this scholarship.
The two scholarship winners will also be required to write 3 articles about life as a D-I student-athlete. We’d like to use their experience as collegiate athletes to inspire other young athletes to get a college education.
Due date: December 20, 2019
This is an annual scholarship opportunity. If you miss the due date for this year’s scholarship, you can always apply the following year.
On the 27th of December, we will select the 10 best candidates.
Then, we will publish the essays of the 10 best candidates on our blog.
On the 31st of January, we announce the two winners (via direct email and our blog).
The two winners will be selected based on two criteria – the popularity of their essay in terms of our readers’ likes, shares, and re-tweets, and an internal vote by Ertheo staff members.
Applicants who send us their application are automatically agreeing to allow us to publish their articles on our blog. (Names can be fictitious if the applicant wishes to remain anonymous).
By accepting this scholarship, applicants are agreeing to write 3 articles about life as a D-I student-athlete. These articles must be submitted between the February and August after accepting the scholarship.
Ertheo reserves the right to retain part (or all) of the scholarship if the winners don’t provide these articles. Each article must be at least 600 words. Our content team would be very happy to offer assistance in terms of ideas or narrowing down the focus.
If you have any questions about this scholarship, please send us an email. We’d be happy to help.
